1. Introduction
eXpend is a personal finance management app designed with privacy as a core principle. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data, what information we collect, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Data We Collect and How the Developer Uses It
2.1 Financial Data
eXpend allows you to track transactions, budgets, wallets, goals, and debts. All this information is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your financial data, and it is never transmitted to our servers.
2.2 Personal Information
- Profile Name: You may provide a name to personalize your profile. This is stored locally on your device.
- Email Address (Optional): If you choose to contact me via the feedback form, you may voluntarily provide your email address so we can respond to you.
2.3 Settings and Preferences
We store your app settings (e.g., currency, language, theme, and display preferences) locally on your device to provide a consistent user experience.
2.4 Biometric Data
If you enable the "Screen Lock" feature, eXpend uses your device's built-in biometric authentication (such as FaceID, TouchID, or Fingerprint). eXpend never accesses or stores your biometric data; it only receives confirmation from your device's operating system whether the authentication was successful.
2.5 Device Information
When you send feedback or when the app encounters an error, the following device information may be included to help the developer troubleshoot:
- Device brand and model
- Operating System (OS) name and version
- App version
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your personal and financial data is stored directly on your device using a local database (Realm). This means your data remains under your control at all times.
- No Cloud Sync: eXpend does not synchronize your data to any cloud service or external server. Your data stays on your device unless you manually export it.
4. Third-Party Services
While we strive to keep your data local, eXpend uses some third-party services for essential app functionality:
- RevenueCat: Used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may process anonymized transaction identifiers to verify your subscription status.
- App Stores (Apple App Store / Google Play Store): These platforms handle your payment information and processing. We do not have access to your credit card details or payment methods.
- Feedback and Error Reporting: If you choose to send feedback or if the app encounters a critical error, the information you provide (including optional email and device details) is sent for support and debugging purposes. This is only done with your interaction and consent. Your feedback and error reports can help me improve the app.
5. Your Rights and Data Control
- Access and Deletion: Because your data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can view, modify, or delete any information directly within the app.
- Complete Data Removal: To delete all data associated with eXpend, you can delete the app from your device. This will permanently remove all locally stored data.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
7. Contact the Developer
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, please contact the developer via the feedback feature within the app, or email me at subdial.expend@outlook.com
